My name is Dr. Matthew Barefoot and I joined Southeastern Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in 2010. I spent my childhood in Winston-Salem, NC. My education began in North Carolina where I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. Following college I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I received my dental degree. While in dental school I was awarded the Thomas P. Hinman Scholarship and subsequently inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, national dental honor society.
Following my education in North Carolina, I received my Medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. After a one year general surgery internship, I subsequently completed my Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at UAB in 2010.
I maintain a strong interest in Dento-alveolar surgery, Dental implants, correction of facial trauma and Orthognathic jaw surgery.
I am joined in Savannah by my wife and son.
